I bought this piano literally as a basket case.  Someone began taking it apart before realizing that he was in far over his head.  All strings had been discarded, so I had to set up a stringing scale from scratch.  The case was full of gouges and scratches, and even a nasty power saw cut. For this reason, I elected to refinish the case in hand-rubbed ebony lacquer. As subsequent pictures will show, it turned out beautifully.
